This summer has been a busy one at RMB Dance but LOTS of fun! We're getting ready to go back to our usual term-time classes, but before that I'd like to reflect on a great summer programme.
We began with 2 weeks of our ever-
popular Junior Camp, which now feels like a long time ago! The 2 weeks were fully booked, with a combination of children who return every holiday, some of our regular students and some new faces too.
Every day we were busy with a wide variety of dance-based activities. I was so pleased to see all the children giving everything a go and learning new skills. I think my most favourite part though was seeing the children form new friendships and loving dancing together. It was nice, at the end of the week, to hear them asking each other to return to camp in the next holidays, already looking forward to seeing each other again for more dancing fun!
I then had some time off and a good rest (!!) before getting back to the studio for our two NEW events: our Pre-school Camp for 3-5 years, and Dance Intensive for 5-9 years. As with anything new, I was a little apprehensive about our new events but they were a huge success! Again it was lovely to welcome lots of new faces, and all the children brought lots of energy and fun!
I'm proud to be able to provide accessible, inclusive dance experiences for children from such a wonderfully diverse range of backgrounds. This week we had a little dancer who was here on holiday from Finland, visiting for the Fringe Festival. It’s lovely to meet so many new faces and to be able to provide dance experiences that children can take wherever they go.
Whether our dancers return again and again to camps and classes or just attend for a week, I like to think that they've had a valuable experience and gained something from their time at RMB Dance, however long that may be. That said, I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to dance with us this summer – you really have all made it so worthwhile.
